Have you been Bonvoyed?

Was staying at the hotel as part of a conference. Friend was checking out a day early to take an earlier flight home. Hotel told him it would be $75 to check out early. Friend was on expense account so he said he'd just keep the room an extra night. Realizing that the hotel couldn't sell the room if he didn't check out (and hotel was oversold), the hotel finally waived the fee. I was standing next to him wondering why Marriott would ever have such an asinine policy. Just the back and forth was how he was Bonvoyed.
